VMASC WORKING TO DEVELOP COST-EFFECTIVE TRAINING SEMINAR FOR DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY EXERCISES

Building from the Hampton Roads Full Scale Exercise held in May 2011, VMASC Chief Scientist Barry Ezell is working with the Hampton Roads Incident Management Team - a coalition of emergency personnel and planners from local communities - to define the requirements and specifications for an off-the-shelf training seminar that could be adapted to any DHS training exercise. read more

ODU & VMASC Researchers to Develop Simulation Tool for Subsistence Farming

The goal of the research project is to develop a prototype simulation tool, utilizing expertise in modeling and simulation, optimization, real estate and education, to demonstrate the potential for its use in increasing the social esteem and economic status of the subsistence farmer. read more

Modeling and simulation industry wants to expand in the private sector

ODU Receives University Transportation Centers Program Grant as Part of Consortium

As a tier 1 grant recipient, ODU/VMASC will share in a $3.5 million grant as part of a team led by the University of Idaho, and including Virginia Tech, Syracuse University and Texas Southern University, with the main mission of the centers being to "help our nation achieve the goals of a cleaner environment and greater energy independence through developing new technologies and decision support tools." read more
