Summary:
The Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation center is looking for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join a research group focused on the study of human dynamics. The goal of the research group is to:
(1) Advance human behavior representation, intelligent agent and human cognition modeling and simulation body of knowledge.
(2) Develop techniques/tools that facilitate the mining and analysis of large data sets.

The position is aimed to improve the underlying data analysis capabilities of the group's toolset. Specifically, the capability to analyze large data sets (big data) in order to improve insight and prediction of human behavior is desired.

The position requires a PhD where large data set analysis is used such as computer science, experimental physics, or genetics. candidates should show a record of writing and publishing of papers in journals and conferences. Prospective candidates need to have strong inter-personal skills as work is conducted within a group. Programming skills (C++, java) are a must.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise in area of technical expertise with a focus on acknowledged specialty.
Develop/support research as directed by Principal Investigator in support of sponsored research.

Supervise students as required.

Attend conferences in order to maintain technical expertise.

Apply for grants and submit proposals in support of Principal Investigators.

Write technical reports.

Support the maintenance and management of the technical infrastructure as dictated by the Chief Scientist.

Conduct technology demonstrations in support ofVMASC research efforts.
