Ports must be Fast, Smart, and Safe
We have said that a port is all about the movement of cargo. Three key words describe how ports accomplish this:
Fast: Goods and materials must be moved on and off ships, trucks, and trains as quickly as possible and moved efficiently through the port.
Smart: If cargo must be inspected for national security, customs or health reasons, that cargo must be quickly identified, secured, and inspected.
Safe: When large containers or large quantities of materials are moving quickly, there is always a danger of accident. Ports must operate with a strong sense of employee and cargo safety.
