Dr. Bae Arrives from KIDA as New Visiting Scholar May 2012 --------------------------------------------- The Virginia Modeling Analysis and Simulation is pleased to welcome visiting scholar Dal Hyeoung Bae, Ph.D. Dr. Bae joins us from the Korean Institute for Defense Analyses (KIDA), where he is a research fellow in KIDA’s Center for Military Planning Studies. Dr. Bae was previously the Chief of Research in KIDA’s Planning & Management Department and has also taught courses at Kwangwoon University(KWU) and the Korean Military Academy(KMA) and the Korean Military Administration School as adjunct professor or instructor, and has experienced at Asia-pacific Center for Security Studies(APCSS) as visiting research fellow. Dr. Bae received his Ph.D. in Business Administration specializing in Management Strategy and Policy from YonSei University in Seoul, South Korea in 1999. Dr. Bae is the author of several papers and publications, including The Sling and The Stone (with Dr. KwangHee Ha, Translation Edition in Korean version, KIDA Press, 2010), Network-centric Warfare (with Dr. Hoon Noh et. Al. 2009), and Information Operation in the Future War (KIDA Press, 2005). He has also completed several studies while at KIDA, most recently "Establishment of Role and Development of Comprehensive Systems on Mobilization Force of Republic of Korea Armed Forces(ROKAF) in the Future" (2010-2011), "Developmental Direction for Upper Level Structure and Systems of ROKAF in the Future" (2010), "Mission and Function of Organizational Structure on JCS of ROKAF" (2010), and "Study of Standard Management Plan on Military Installation Conservation" (2009). While at VMASC, Dr. Bae will study and assist VMASC research faculty with strategic planning, risk analytics, policy analysis, and resource allocation.
